Hey I’m new to this too and have just recently realised I suffer from preoccupied anxious attachment from reading some books on the subject and I was wondering how u guys stop urself from becoming activated? I was happy and now Iv met someone and all my feelings of anxiety and panic are coming on again

I am new as of today. I was raised by a RAD parent and have attachment issues because of it. I am a classic avoidance person but I also healed enough to have a healthy 27-year marriage (albeit with another attachment avoidance person) and raise 2 children who are quite independent and yet still close to me. A few years ago, we took in a teenager with classic attachment issues. He is still in the thick of it and I learn every day what my own stuff is through being triggered by him. I would love to hear from anyone else out there on how they cope with their own attachment issues

Hi. warrior2. Welcome. Feel free to start a new discussion thread. I have one grown child and two ex-wives. I have only been able to cope by keeping my distance from everyone, except for my dear housemate. This groups seems pretty detached, and a new discussion thread will be a treat.

I also keep a night lite on in the Schizoid Paradox group, but I keep my journals to myself. LOL! "We" look forward to chatting with you.. I am in awe of your work.ing through such a long-lasting relationship. TTYL.
