the problem is, people that think otherwise don't actually READ their Bible, they only Listen to their sermons that quote words and sentences.

So now there's going to be a war there between atheists, catholics and protestants?

personally, i find the Bible as interesting as any othr text which may or may not be associated with any religion... i take the vast majority of it with a grain of salt, i see in it something much different thn i thnk most ppl do. Never underestimate the power of omission... The best thng about being an unafraid atheist or agnostic, is being able 2 study such books, taking n2 consideration how mny times the hve been re-translated & written, & discovering that some of the principles contained therein are idealogical references, themes associated with physics, metaphysics, general spirituality, etc. It's the ability 2c many colors besides the black, white, or shaded grays of conformity. Whoevr had a hand in this law, is at the very least, undr the mistaken impression that conformity is in any measure affiliated with safety or some warped sense of protection. Although that is likely jst a guise as well, as with any othr law, the objective is control... i'm not convinced an "us" vs "them" mentality has served humanity well

This is the most effective weapon against the religious reich & it's oppressors, the ability 2 counter them calmly & intelligently with proven scientific theory & rational logical perspective n2 what has become the extremist diversion which religion is~ enthralled by a "sameness" which in actuality does not exist. This ability makes them (anyone with a religious affiliation) at best defensive & usually absolutely furious~ see also: insecure... it challenges comfortability & the atrophy of insight, inspires questioning the answers 2 arrives at personal solutions...

Perhaps one day each religion will be able 2 hve it's own desolate planet(s)... either wy, i suspect conflict will continue

yeah, I read the bible and see aliens (well, our ancestors, so perhaps human) with technology we no longer have but we're learning more. I think since WWII, their game started to end and now they don't know what to do with us. It's not an 'us' vs 'them' mentality, it's Intent that way to keep us from having another tower of babel

Hi everyone, I'm new here. I had actually started a group of my own called Loss of Faith... but for some reason, I seem to be attracting all the christians who see it as an opportunity to 'win souls'. I saw this group and thought I would have more opportunity to talk about all the things bothering me, and why I have lost my faith.
I came across a website that posted a speech that really blew me away. It puts alot of things about the bible in perspective for me, as well as showing me I'm not crazy for thinking so much about the church is a lie. I had no idea that there had been parts of the gospel that had been added, long after the original "witnesses" were dead. More than that, this author showed me how certain details of the life/death of Jesus we're embellished as you read from book to book. You know, like the guys trying to outdo each other with who can come up with the Biggest fish story. Who all has known about and studied these new facts coming to light?
