I never thought until I started this journey, but I have never been so excited for my AF. She came this morning so blood work on Monday.

The bloodwork is to test estrogen, FSH, LH, thyroid, and prolactin.
I have done all of this before, but my RE said it is needed to make sure he has the most up to date info to make sure my protocal is tailored to my most current medical situation.

That does not make sense to me that he would still use blood work that's over a year old to plan your course of treatment now. Your estrogen hormone that is secreted from the ovary, FSH hormone that is released from the brain and stimulates the ovary to mature an egg, and your LH which is integral in the final maturation and release of a mature follicle does change. (ie: you AF coming on its own is a change for sure) The blood levels show how your brain and ovaries work to mature an egg each month, so it is critical for it to be checked. I would ask for new baseline labs, because those are too old to be accurate at this point.

carly, I agree with Kimolu. It would seem that much has changed in a year esp. with your cycle. I think starting with a baseline is a good idea.

Hello ladies!

I finished my sonogram and blood work. I have 4 follicles and I have a cyst. I have another appointment with my RE on Thursday when we will review everything and give me my protocol.

I also found out why he did not want me on BCP before I start my meds. He said it would suppress me to much and cause me to have less follicles which would be worst. The only thing is now what to do about the cyst since I can not take BCP. I will wait to find out on Thursday or ladies let me know if you have ran across anything that would help remove a cyst.

Cardinals AF should be here by Wed but I had to have a D&C(to get fir of endometritis) on Thursday so im hoping that did not through anything off. I am so nervous.

Hi..I have fibroids..and they are different from cysts..my doc also didnt give me any BC before this cycle of IVF but did give me lupron to supress hormones/prevent hyperstim.and doc said they could shrink my fibroids..

sorry..but havnt read about things to reduce cysts though..

Thanks Dream! My RE said he will estract it if my cyst becomes a problem. He promised to do everything to keep my IVF Cycle on schedule. Ladies, my labs are back with everything in range. Thursday I will find out about my meds so I am excited. Hope everyone is doing GREAT!
