For those seeking support and information for Adult Onset Still's Disease. Still's disease is a rare autoimmune disease affecting the joints and organs very similar to Rheumatoid Arthritis and Lupus.
Had Still's for approx 2 yrs. and have had kineret did not help with predisone at 40mg daily and naproxen of 500 switched to Embrel with methotraxate 7 pills weekly, 40 mg pred and 500 naprox. both daily This seemed to be working but after 6 months I have had a flare that is going on to its 4 week. Now I have new problems of arthritic pain in my spine and neck along with all the normal joints being affected and the sweats last from 5 pm to approx. 11 pm I am so fatiged I can not get out of bed. Just wondering if anyone has had similiar problems with this disease. I am going off work for the 3rd time since I got the disease do any of you stop working due to the problems from the disease
I have had stills about 3 years, but have just recently been diagnosed. I have been VERY ill with it. I have not yet recieved any meds. So, I am very, very ill as well. I can relate =/
I have been in a flare for about 4 weeks now...my last one lasted 6 weeks. I usually have to be out of work during my flares because I am a server at Disney and am just in too much pain and too tired to keep up. I am on 8mg of Pred. daily right now while waiting to hear from the company that makes Enbrel to see if I can get the medication for free since I am uninsured. This disease is soooo expensive if you don't have insurance!
I am late getting here.
Are you still flaring?...I know...what a question, huh?
