For those seeking support and information for Adult Onset Still's Disease. Still's disease is a rare autoimmune disease affecting the joints and organs very similar to Rheumatoid Arthritis and Lupus.
I am in a flare that is taking a lot out of me. My temp is 102.4 and my spleene (I think that's the correct spelling. lol.) is swollen and hurting me. I was doing ok until 2 days ago then smack in the face I'm flaring. *sigh* I guess it's my body's way of saying "You are still alive and kicking." It would be so nice if it did it in another way. If I'm not around for a bit, you know it's the dragon playing it's nasty games with me.
Heather, hang in there. You are not alone. I totally understand these flares. With endurance we will run the race to the end.
Huggers,
Karen :)
I am sick--real sick today with fever and sore throat. This is a major flare. I am hoping it won't put me in bed for a long time but one never knows. I'll be around here when I can.
Hugs,
Karen
I have the throat thing too. Do any of you (i.e., the other two of you!) have trouble swallowing things? And do you get daily fevers or twice-a-day fevers?
BTW, I've been much better since I started on Kinaret. Have your docs tried that on you?
I Karen my life has been so busy I was doing so much better for a while so I was staying very busy with my kids pioneering and saving my energy for meetings. I have good news my Son is most likely getting baptized this July and I also am falling apart with a broken heart because my husband also was getting baptized but something serious has come to light now that he is going over the questions. It has thrown me in to a terrible flare and my depression is in over drive I cried so much after the meeting yesterday when it all came out that my eyes are blood red and swollen. Will you email me some time? I could use a sisters advice and love right now and it would be even better coming from some that is not to close to the situation if you know what I mean. A part of me wants to protect my husband the other half wants to kick him right out.
