Vitamin Deficiency - SAD relationship, anxiety, too?
Last week my annual check up showed I was low on vitamin D, one of the new tests doctors are checking this year.
Anyway, last month my husband was told by his doctor to start taking it, too, since his was lower than normal and it is good for your heart, etc.
Anyway, I started taking it when he did...about 3 weeks ago.
I Googled, "Vitamin D and anxiety," and several studies popped up showing a relationship between vitamin D deficiency and anxiety and many about SAD.
I wonder if my sudden feeling better in the morning is a coincidence, or because I have been working hard on lifestyle changes, counseling, meds, etc?
Anyway, I thought I would put it out there as information. My husband said that his doctor said to take 800mg per day; we're taking 1,000 because that's what was on the shelf. Articles on the web say studies of people taking 10,000mg a day isn't deadly or anything so I figure, "what's another 200 mg."
