I've found that forcing myself to do it sure does feel A LOT better when I'm done than to keep putting it off. I don't worry or think about it that way.
You have to force yourself to keep motivated. If you don't, you're giving in to the "pain" and the negative thinking. There is no other way to do it, than to just DO IT....lol
I would recommend making a list for each day. Accomplish the things ONLY on that list for the day. Perhaps, fill out the paperwork, and put in some soft, upbeat music. The next day, take it to the post office. The day after that, go through the bills. The day after that, pay the bills.
We musn't always look at things as "tasks". Choose to look at the situation is a different way. IE : "Ok, I'll get these papers filled out, and will feel so much better that it's done" Instead of " I can't bring myself to do these today". How you're thinking is affecting your attitude towards it. See what I mean ?
CAN'T is a big NO NO word. WE CAN do anyting we set our minds to. Just by saying "CAN'T" alone shows a negative in yourself. BELIEVE in yourself that you CAN do it.
Hope this helps some. Big hugs to you and remember, not everything has to be done all at once. There's plenty of time for accomplishing. Set your goals and MEET them. It gives you confidence and high self esteem.
Just do your best, and don't beat yourself up over it.

Mizzie I know how you feel with the battles with Insurance Companies, Lawyers, Hundreds of medicals and then more medicals and then the Discovery meetings and trial prep... It's horrid and in the end 'you' are the one who is on trial not the person who was at fault. They twist any little thing they can. My case settled about midnight the night before my trial was scheduled to begin. After 6 years of all that and for me I was the only wage earner here. I lived with my two daughters and making the mortgage payments and keeping up with taxes and utilities and so on was a nightmare. I borrowed from venture capitalists to make my mortgage payment.. so by the time I got my settlement they took a huge chunk and so did my lawyer.
In the end I had to think of it like without my lawyer I would have had nothing.. so whatever I got was going to be a bonus.
Life is much better now that I know where I stand and my days are my own... NO more appointments... no more medicals except the ones that I schedule.
and.... you do procrastinate big time.. who wants to look at a bank balance that is in serious trouble?? who wants to pull out all those bills... You can't do what you used to do around the house and you get depressed looking at what needs to be done.. neither can you afford to pay someone to do things for you.. it's a vicious circle.
Just KNOW it DOES get better. There is light at the end of the tunnel. It's like a huge weight lifted off your shoulders when your life is your own. It does take a while to adjust. I'm still adjusting.. but it's onward and upward from here on in.
The only real depressing thing is when you realize.. ya it's all over and yes I am stuck with these injuries.. it really settles in that this is what life is going to be like.
I've had so so so much going on in my personal life and with my kids that I really have not had a heck of a lot of time for life to kindof settle down.. but at least I am in charge of my destiny now and so will you be soon. I don't like routine anyways.. I'm more of a free spirit and spontaneous person so I'm not complaining. LMAO but at least when it is all said and done you are back in the driver's seat and is you keep your head on right you'll steer yourself back to a more fulfilling life with your kids.
I guess I just wanted you to know that I know how tuff it is and also to let you know that it WILL get better!!!!!! and that it is pretty normal to procrastinate when you are in that kindof limbo state waiting for it all to be over.
I too was always a procrastinator even previously.. but I loved it.. cause in my line of work there was always this high at a projects launch and I always came through and got the job done... but now that it's just personal procrastination.. there is no celebrating and no one patting you on the back when you do get things done lol.. so you for me.. I need to find ways to celebrate myself.. no matter how small.. rewarding yourself for accomplishing even daily stuff.
And.. exactly as stated above.. make your goals doable and make a short term list for today... and then I usually do a longer term and try to prioritize it.. and pick one thing from it.. for my short term. Hell I even write things down that I did . .. just to cross them off LOL ;)
