Another thing that really set my panic to going is several months ago i had a bad cold which ended up settling in my ears---and gave me BAD vertigo---I still have ocasional vertigo and oh lawd when that happens there i go with a panic attack...
You definitely are not alone with this---Maybe we can somehow learn together how to get over/through this:)

Like I stated before, the best thing you can do is get up immediately when you wake. Hop in the shower and start doing a few things after that. A shower will always make you feel good right after waking. You can always take a nap (which of course during the week, I don't have the luxury of doing, darn it) later on. But at least get up and start your day. I love mornings. I never use to, but that's the best part of the day, I think.
I was riddled with HORRIBLE morning anxiety. Literally, when I woke, my insides were just trembling. Which made me not want to get out of bed, plus I was sick to my stomach, and would lay there and worry.
Now, I get right up, even on the weekends (I do sleep in a little later than normal) and let the dog out, have a ciggy, then my exercising. (I know, I SMOKE, then exercise...lmao) After that, I eat, take a shower, so a few more things, by then I'm ready for a nap. Usually around 1-ish.
Just something to try, it works for me.
I'm a bad example for advice but you aren't alone in this. I doubt I'll change this habit other then the smoking when I quit.
Oh, I also HATE taking showers! However, I take one everyday. I need to start exercising again but I need to stop smoking so much or cut down a lot.
I always want to take a nap everyday around 2pm. I wonder if it's just my glucose level slipping. I'll have to do more research on that.
off topic: Do you know what get's on my nerves? I can't spell exercise with out trying about 3 times before I can remember! I have no idea why I can't remember how to spell that word!
I do exercise everyday. The negative side of me says, "Why bother? You've been doing it for most of 25 years and you still have anxiety." I try and counter that by saying, "Maybe I'd be even worse if I didn't exercise."
BTW, even though you smoke, you can start with baby steps and walk
R E A L S L O W. I can say that I do feel better about an hour afterwards so if I'm only getting a little relief that's better than nothing.
I guess I do feel better because it lifts my spirits. I feel happy and proud that I was able to walk for an hour...without running home crying because I am scared.
LeAnne,
I used to smoke and exercise AND I was into "health foods"/organics, etc. People laughed at me for that, too. Didn't make sense but until I met my husband was I able to quit for good. He doesn't smoke and the more I was around him the less I smoked.
I think anyone who smokes wishes they didn't. Easier said than done. Over the years I've had one here and there. The smell of someone freshly lightin up always affects me to want one...but when I actually smoke one it's not like what I imagine.
