A good place to start is with all the links that LeAnne has supplied everyone with in the News Section of our group. It's great cause LeAnne has put all the work into researching good links for all of us to take advantage of.
Anticipatory anxiety is what anxiety is all about. The exessive worrying. Spend some time checking out Positive Affirmations. It is a lot of work that only you can do for yourself.. but if you want to see results you need to start using the affirmations daily.. hourly!! It's all about re-programing your subconcious. It's important to say your affirmations out loud. Over and Over!! Eventually your sub-concious will start feeding them back to you. Your subconcious is like a tape recording of everything you do and say... and when we are anxious we are feeding it full of doubts and fears. Using positive affirmations wipes out that negativity and instead puts us in charge!
In the hypnosis section there are a couple of videos that you have already used. Bravo to you :) :) :) Once you get some Positive Affirmations in place you can start using them in that trance state. When you are in that state your mind is 'very' open to suggestion and it is like fast tracking your way to a more positive you.
I can't stress enough that it is time consuming and hard work... BUT!!! YOU are worth every breath of it.
Love and Hugs to you.. I know you can do it.

:)
I will continue to keep moving from the negative stories in my head over to my successes.
Thanks!
Thanks J for reminding of the links. We know how you feel want2, believe me. Isn't it strange how our thinking has caused so much anxiety ?
Like J said, it takes work and there is no overnight cure. I've told members on here before, when I first started my quest to positive thinking, I LITERALLY argued with myself. I used positive affirmations all day and all night, and after about a week, I started noticing a difference. Also, try this one: MAY I ACCEPT THINGS AS THEY ARE
For some reason, that was a powerful one for me. J has provided TONS of hypnosis videos in the news section. Those videos can work wonders. You're doing a GREAT job, Want2. The whole key to this anxiety crud is ACCEPTING that it takes time. You WILL get better, don't doubt that. But nervous illness takes some time to heal and you are doing all the right things.
Big hugs to you,
LeAnne
I am also noticing that I am not having as many catastrphic stories in my mind lately.
funny how the mind turns things that are supposed to be exciting into something dreadful and for no apparent reason really. nothing happened that was bad at the last 2 concerts and it was alot of fun so why the anxiety? perhaps i was just trying to get thru christmas and the new years before worrying about something else. its stupid - what do i have to worry about a concert for...or christmas or the new year. christmas was awesome here at my house and i survived it financially as i always do. i couldn't wait for it actually.
i had to ask myself why am i worrying about the concert now. now nothing is wrong, there are no problems in the now, in the present. the chronicness of the worrying is what is to be overcome. it's insanity! 95% of what we or i worry about, never ever comes to pass and everything works out - it always does!
Great job !! Remember, we can also mistake anxiety for excitement. I do that frequently. But now, I can distinguish the difference. It takes a little work, but I can look at it now and say "I'm not anxious, I'm just excited about this" (whatever that may be) So, try and look at it that way in certain circumstances :) Because it's the truth.
Those of us with anxiety think everytime we feel "good" or excited that we are anxious. Because that's what we're SO USE to.... lol
now that i think of it - it's the same feeling i got when my parents were on their way christmas morning and i know it wasn't dread but excitement!
you should have seen our house - our tree was 12 foot tall that we had to cut down a little to fit in the house and there were so many presents and good food and everyone was laffing and so grateful. it was 1 of the best christmas' ever!
my mom and i even wii boxed each other. i was so out of breath but took her down in the 3rd round. my brother took video of it and everyone was laffing and carrying on. so much fun!
When you know it's something you're looking forward to, and you're not feeling "bad", just excited, that's the good anxiety coming out. You will have more of that than bad anxiety once you start recognizing it.
The only time I get the "bad" type of anxiety anymore is if I've gone several days without good sleep. And it's not so bad to where I can't manage it, but I can distinguish the 2 now. If that makes sense... lol
