Hi all I'm new to this group, but I would like to tell you about my girls.
I have a Pit Bull named Emma and a Golden Ret. named Jorja. Emma was raised in a semi (I'm was a truck driver) I got her at a truck stop...She was in a small pet carrier w/ about 6 other dogs. When I got her she was not healthy by any means. However, she grew to be a stubborn, onery, and sassy dog. She loves to be snuggled and kissed on. Jorja, well I got her by accident and I wouldn't trade her for anything. Jorja is a little character. She is always up to something. She is in the process of tuning into her natural instinct which is sniffing EVERYTHING...LOL I'm hoping to have her groomed as a search and rescue dog. She is very talented!
You put those 2 together and well you have whole lot of trouble...LOL and they blame each other. They ARE the love of my life.
On a personal note, I'm advocate for Pit Bulls as well as rescuing Pit Bulls. This is the second rescue I've done. My first Pit (Brandy) I had for 12 wonderful years, who became a victim of lung cancer. I could have put my husband down easier than I could that little girl! I also try to educate people on Pit Bulls. I'm also and advocate for STOPPING puppy milling.
I look forward to hearing and seeing the stories of other animal lovers.

Hey I'm new here too, aw bless, we were going to rescue a dog but it's so hard to find one that's ok with another dog (Bobby, our Cocker Spaniel) and kids under 10 (I have LOADS of little siblings) but when I'm older I really want to rescue four big dogs, good luck with your beautiful girls :) x

Welcome, ladies and your pets. I would turn my property into a shelter for homeless pets, but there's a 3 pet limit in this area. I get around this by having a herd of deer that bed down on my property. LOL. Pits are the most abused dogs I've ever heard of. They get killed or put down if they don't win fights and lose money. Greyhounds are put down if they don't win, also. An idiot at the former dog track here puy an electric cord in a dog's anus and electrocuted it! I think he should be electrocuted. Also, my ex made me give away my kid's dog, Brandy. I should have gotten rid of him, instead. Thank you warm hearted animal lovers. ~ sara
