Not coping well at all

It's been one week today since I had to let Abby go. I am just not coping well at all, all I do is lay on her bed and cry so hard and tell her how sorry I am. I have not eaten and I only sleep a few hours at a time. I just can't stop crying and wishing I could go back to that day and bring her home. I feel so guilty and then I will wish the neighbor would not have been able to take us to the vet that day.

I feel like a mental case right now and nobody is understanding why I am taking this so hard. I have avoided my family because I don't want to hear them say to suck it up and get over it, they say that a lot to me when I get into a deep depression. I know others have lost pets and I'm not the only one to feel so lost but I feel so alone right now in my grief. I never looked at my life being without her. I'm so exhausted from the crying and the deep pain in my heart.

I could use some kind words from someone, anyone.

Hello Angel, I left a message on your journal, and pet bereavemet, you are not alone, many go through the same heartbreak, asking did I do All I could? We can only do our best, and you did you have over the years you loved 'Abby' cared for her , and she knew I am sure how much you loved her, and you had said that she wasn't so well, her breathing was bad, and I can tell you from personal expereince with my beloved little one that the cyst can grow on the inside and turn cancerous, so please stop feeling guilty, 'Abby'' was at a good age, and you had to let her go, if you feel so bad, have a word with the vet, it could help you to heal gently from this deep grief, I cry everytime i write to you, it is a year in a few days that i had to let go of my 'Oscar'', no you are not alone , we will always miss our little one, till we go too, love Lucy'''''

It's like any other type of grief. You can't go through it alone. It's a shame that others aren't supportive. I have lost people I love and everyone allows you to suffer and are very sympathetic. It's too bad some people don't value bonds between people and their animal-friends the same way.

the bible says, "lose one get back two" i know that sounds hard, but it realllly does help. or a pregnant mom and then keep the babies as well, just have them all fixed and have your own little family of them. it NEVER replaces but it does help heal it. animals are such a joy and a comfort. its also saving a life because of the huge number of cats and dogs that are killed at humane societies. so while you heal from it take in another.


p.s. i would avoid all people who treat it lightly. if they don't respect you they aren't worth being around. i have a poem on toxic friends (that includes family) let me see if i can find it. its starts out like, a friend is not a friend if...

Aw Angel, don't let anyone tell you how to feel. When it hurts, it hurts. You don't have to pretend to be ok if your not. HUGS!!! But honey, please take care of yourself. Even if its just broth and Gatorade for now. Don't let your guilt and selfblame eat you alive. You cant change what happened, I wish I could change it for you. Grieve all you need to, theres nothing wrong with mourning when we lose something or someone we love and is such a part of our daily lives. Im here if you ever need to talk. Wish I could help more. <3
