My dog Max was diagnosed with Anal Gland Cancer last year and the prognosis for this cancer is very bad. He did have the surgery and that, combined with medication, he seemed to be doing extremely well. This past Thursday, I felt a large lump in that same area and when I brought him to the Vet on Saturday, he said the cancer is spreading. I was grateful that the surgery bought him a year, however, I am devastated that the cancer is back. Unfortunately this is a rapidly spreading cancer and I am devastated. He is 10 and is still my baby. I don't know what I will do without him. I am completely devastated. I'm not sure how long he has. Did anyone else ever have any experience with this type of cancer in dogs, or any other for that matter. Thanks so much :(

Hello so sorry about your precious ''MAX'', you had one year, I remember being in the car crying with my Cindy in my lap praying for just a bit more time, when the time came she looked well, didn't expect her to die, no signs nothing, at least you know, prepare yourself.
I know how it breaks your heart but you had this time with Max, cherish every moment, he will always be your baby, I wish I could say something to ease your pain, I am crying as I write, for me and you and all the little ones that go to the rainbow bridge.

Unfortunately Max had to be put down on 10/5. One of the saddest things I have had to do. My heart breaks as I miss my baby so much. Very sad.

I'm so sorry you lost Max, my thoughts and prayers go out to you during this difficult time.

I don't get on DS much anymore. I still struggle with the loss of my sweet baby girl Abby. I'm just sad all the time and keep to myself.

I hear you angel....it's like losing a child. I got another cocker spainiel and named him Jax but it will never replace the love I have for my baby Max.
