My Father has recently been diagnosed with ALS. While the diagnosis is official we have seen the signsof deteriation for some time now. We have just in the past two weeks got to the point where he has left the denial phase. I have seen others in my community deal with this disease and am trying to brace myself for what I know the coming months will bring. Reading just a few of the posts on here however almost makes me feel bad about even bringing it up. My father will turn 80 next month and has lead a mostly healthy and very active life. I hope that I can provide some support and encouragement to others in this group while I read and learn from your experiences.

My once-vibrant mother almost died of ALS. My Mother was diagnosed with ALS in 2018 following a year of doctor visits and tests aimed at finding a cure for her slurred speech, difficulty swallowing, and weakening limbs. By the time she was diagnosed, she had developed pneumonia and was put on a respirator. A family friend visits us and told us about Donald Herbal Medical center and their successful ALS TREATMENT, I am happy to report the treatment effectively treated and reversed her Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), most of the symptoms stopped, she is able to walk and able to ride her treadmill again, she is pretty active now and can do everything again. if you need the help of the doctor you can write him on this email healthcaremedicalcenter15@gmail.com

So it's been two years since this post, but I'm going to comment here because your sittuation then sounds a lot like mine now.

My dad was one of the healthiest people I knew. Fit, active, kept a garden and worked full time until he retired at 79. He loved his job.

Then, shortly after he retired he developed fasiculations and went to see his doctor. Much testing, several months and a forest's worth of VA forms later, he was diagnosed with ALS. This was winter 2021.

I'm thankful that he avoided the disease for as long as he did. And I have had the same feelings of whether I have the same "right" to feel sad or angry about my dad's diagnosis as others whose family members were diagnosed earlier in life. I think I've decided that it doesn't matter when or how it happens, a daughter is never ready to lose her daddy.

If you're still on this forum, I'd appreciate anything you might be willing to share about how you are doing now and how you and your family have gotten through the last few years.
