My dad, who was diagnosed with ALS in January 2007, has been living at home and being cared for by my mother. He was admitted to the hospital yesterday for several reasons including a bad reading on his diaphragm, constipation and rectal bleeding, etc. He is complaining of severe itching all over his body. Does anybody know what causes the itching and how to help it to stop? The hospital where they live doesn't know much about ALS, so they don't really know how to treat him.
