Hi I am new to this site and while researching I did not see any amputee support group. So I am creating my own support group. If interested please join in. With eachother's support, we can all help each other :)
Hi I'd like to introduce myself. my name is Danielle I am a 37yr old female I am a double below the knee amputee nearly 2yrs now and i am also the mother to a 2 and a 4 yr old. I had major issues after my amputations. i am just now starting the prostetics and am really having a hard time. if anyone within the group would like to chat i'd really enjoy the conversation.
I am a BKA (right leg) and for a while there after the amputation I complained a lot. I can't imagine how I would have felt loosing both legs. Is it OK to ask what issues you were dealing with after your amputation? It has been 2 years now for me and I have finally gotten out of that feeling of just taking things a day at a time. I'm doing OK now and the loss of a leg was a real experience for me. If you would like to chat just let me know. Take care and have a great day. By the way, my name is Walt
