Lately I've been seeing sparkles(like glitter) when my blood pressure is high. I only see them sometimes. I took my blood pressure earlier and it was 116/90. I'm on diltiazem 240mg xc and ramipril 2.5 mg for high blood pressure. I take the diliazem in the morning with food and the ramipril in the evening. I have a slight headache which gets much worse when diastolic goes up over 90. Does anyone else experience sparkles with high blood pressure?

Thanks Annette I'm looking at the results now. So far everything from high blood pressure, to ocular migraines. How are you feeling?

I don't have high blood pressure, but I used to get them often, when I was young. I would especially see them if I was bending down, or sitting on the floor and then got up suddenly. They're called 'floaters.'

I always thought floaters looked like weird see through shapes. I've seen those before, also black dots. I was told that when I was pregnant the sparkles were due to high blood pressure affecting my brain. It may be different when you're not pregnant. Welcome to the group!

My floaters have always been squiggly, sparkly, short lines that would move around. :)
