Mild winter this year!

For those of you who live in the northeast! How do I know this?

The bees are building their nests on the ground so that definitely means a mild winter. I am still waiting to hear from the squirrels for confirmation. If they hide their acorns and apples, under my shed, that means a mild winter, if they put them high in the trees, between the branches, that means better spend the winter down south!

I have known about this unique type of forcasting the weather for many years and it has never failed! Nature's way of keeping the species going, I guess!

hope you are right, but my dog Duke won't be happy! Lives for the snow. I kick it up in the air and goes air borne!

does that work for the midwest too? haven't heard of that weather forcasting way...out here they talk of the wooly caterpillar...if the strip in the middle of the back is wider...long winter, if shorter...short winter...I seen two the other day---one was all black no strip and the other was almost all brown accept for a little black tip on the end....um, wonder what that means...confuzzled winter??? LOL--

all those predicting winter weather for the western part of the country are saying the opposite over here. Early winter and a lot of snow, more than last year, and last year was cold and more than normal. We've already had more rain for fall than is normal.

pugzy, my wife told me this morning that the wooly catepillars that she has seen confirm the predictions of the bees! They have all had a very narrow black strip!

I think one of the ones you have seen may have been a different species.

It works in all parts of the country, I would assume but don't know for sure because I have lived here all of my life.

KmH you need to see if bee hives are high or low, in trees or on the ground! Where are the squirrels hiding their nuts lol

In Texas your lucky if you get a glimps of winter. Love a beautiful heavy snow. And stay in w/ shades open and enjoy the day. Comfort feeling.

janebee--my brother lives in texas and he loves it....he does come to minnesota a couple times in the winter to do his snowmobiling, tubing, etc stuff....but not for long... :) enjoy...

    check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

     I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...
