Okay, you slipped. Now stop drinking. You can do it, you did for how many years??? Side effects will hopefully be short lived and stop soon, in the meantime keep your sponsor's number handy and go to meetings!!! I don't need to tell you how to work your program. You have lived it and done so well. Please remember it is ONE DAY AT A TIME, ONE DAY AT A TIME, ONE HOUR AT A TIME. Whatever it takes. Good luck and God bless you.
I am saddened to hear of your relapse. The medication does explain what triggered it, however you don't want to use that as an excuse to continue down this path you know in your heart is not for you. You and only you know of your struggles, of your reasons and wants to stop drinking in the first place. I urge you to continue contact with your sponser and understand a relapse can sometimes be an excuse people use to continue on a road they don't want to be on. Again, I commend you for your stopping in the first place those many years ago... please go back to that place and remember a relapse isn't an "in for a penny, in for a pound" excuse you want to take. Many hugs to you dearest friend... and remember, I'm here for you if you ever need to talk or release any frustrations, uncertainties, thoughts and feelings regarding making your choice to stop once again. I'm not an official sponser, but I offer you my support, and a couple of listening ears.
Hoping to hear your latest and hoping your choice was to put down any drink and get back to figuring out your way forward.
Many good luck hugs to you.
i can understand your predicament, i, too, suffer from addiction. several actually. My main one is Self Harm. it has me by the throat and its grasp is squeezing tightly, a lil each time i dont cut. i'm so proud of you for reaching 4 years...that is so awesome; i envy your sense of control and abstinence for such a long time. i admire you for that.i feel there is hope for you..you've done it once, you can and will do it again if you so desire...even tho we dont share the same addiction im still understanding of what you are going through, relapse wise...so if you'd like to chat please feel free to reach out to me ok because i do care and respect you for who you are
It is an eternal battle and the more you learn and understand from it, the stronger you will be to fight it.
Cheering for you ((HUGS))
