I've been on SSDI for over 6 years. I attempted to return to work 3 1/2 years ago, and had been taken back out on disability 5 months later. So I've been leading a pretty sedentary life every since. I've moved, at least once per year for the past 5 years (my poor kids). This is the first time in 5 years that my children have attended the same school district for 2 years in a row.
I go back to school starting Monday. I'll be busy going to school, plus I have to see so many specialists. I have psychological testing going on (following ECT), a chiropractor, a gastroenterologist, my pdoc, my therapist, my son's pdoc and his therapist.....and I'm starting my own chapter of the DBSA (Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance) and will be facilitating a weekly support group.
So I'll be going from sedentary with hardly anything to do....to having absolutely no time whatsoever. It's a big change, and I think I'm ready for it. Sitting around the house has been driving me absolutely crazy. I guess I just wanted someone to know what I'm going through and ask that anyone who could wish me luck...please do! Thanks.

Your an encouragement to me knowing there is a life beyond being bipolar and maybe I can do a part time job and even some further education. Be sure to let me know how it goes, I look forward to hearing updates from you and don't hesitate to ask for support her and please keep posting to let us know what going on thanks.
I'm going to a technical school that is all computer based learning and is "flex time". I make my own schedule. I just have to get 24 hours per week in...and I take 1 class at a time. I'm looking forward to the first few weeks of school just to get the first class over with (which is 50 hours worth of studying HIPAA laws). I already worked in the healthcare field and know all about HIPAA laws, but it's required for me to earn my certification, so I have to do the hours.
