Hey kath - I have no job, wrecked my car, lost my license and live in the 'burbs. Talk about NO LIFE!!! DS and laundry, oh and the dogs - that's my life!

I have no job and it is FREEZING here. All I do is job hunt all day and watch football on Sundays. Hopefully I get a job before football season ends!

i know how you feel dog girl i have no licence job or car either but i do also have a dog laundry and ds lol

I have no job either and really need one soon. I have a car, but no money for gas, so I'm stuck in the house. I'm also finding that being sober, I hardly know what to do with my time, other than chores around the house. I don't have any interests these days either. Maybe I will get more passionate about something when I am sober longer than a week.

To everyone who needs to get more out of a sober life, I hope we all find it soon.

Yeah, kathy, peas in the same boring pod we are (I hear the washer going in the background now). It's really cold here too and I have been cutting short the dog walks. Our court system really needs a wake up. No amount of punishment is ever going to 'cure' someone with a real problem. Losing my license cost me my career. In the burbs here, it's $40 to take a cab across town about 8 miles. Seriously, what the FUCK else do I really have to do but drink away my time? I'm not justifying drinking at the moment but in my DUI group, the loss of license has cost many people their livelihoods. Oh, and sentencing them to AA? You have to want to go to make a change.

Okay, the rant is over. Sorry folks. I can deal with not driving but when I lost the best job ever? Well, I'm a little bitter! I've never not-worked before and I hatehatehate housecleaning.

I would agree with you DG; my cousin had 4-5 DWI's in NY state before the judge REVOKED his license. You know what happened next? He got another ticket for DWI and driving with a revoked license!

People whose jobs require them them to have a valid license of course will lose their jobs. If they had a breathilizer installed in their vehicles though, they could drive around all they wanted to when sober, and if they were not the car simply wouldn't start.

I am mandated to have the blow tester installed on my car when I get the license back. No problem though a little embarrassing.

In my first DUI class, I was put in with the hardcore drug addicts because I blew pretty high. I was young and there were people shaking in my group. One guy would rant that the cops were out to get him! He was sleeping in his back seat once, drunk, on the side of the road and they got him. Another he was fixing something IN his car in the driveway and arguing with is wife and they got him then. Another time... yada yada yada. Basically, any time he's near a car he's drunk because well, HE'S ALWAYS DRUNK. He was on his 5th too, I was on my first. The one thing I learned? Kensington in Philly is where you go to buy your heroin.

I was able to get driving priviledges to and from work and to help care for my parents after my second DUI (was really my third, but one was 20+ yrs ago, so it was considered my 2nd). Anything like that where either of you live. How are you supposed to pay off fines and such when you can't even drive to a freaking job?????
