That's a tall order. All I have left to do is retire, collect social security and get a part time job to supplement the paltry check I'll be getting in the mail each month.

My life is a bit more complicated. In a relationship with a woman 17 yrs elder to me, parents don't accept her. I have to balance things to keep everyone happy. And yes shes there with me, her plans to go abroad did not work out (I had written in my earlier post that she might go abroad for work)

Just one step at a time.

I meant no disrespect. I didn't know about the girlfriend not going away. That's the only reason I mentioned the "falling in love" part. I thought you were talking about someone new. I'm sorry it didn't work out for her if that is what she wanted. Sounds like a good thing for you, though. It sucks the age difference isn't accepted there. It's no big deal here. I lived with someone for 8 years who was 17 years older than me. Granted, it's the other way around with the age thing, but it's acceptable either way - might get some strange looks at the most.

Don't know why I threw in the thing about marriage maybe being different than it is here in the States. I'm clueless about other cultures - truly I am.

No problem JanMichelle. I guess we are from different cultures. Here people would be scandalized if we married, especially me being a guy - 17 years younger! Its not at all accepted by the society. You can get away with being a former alcoholic or druggie but with something like this you get frowned upon and talked about everywhere. That's India!
And about she not going abroad, well, it was good for me.

Wow..umm breaking out the "to do" list are we? I think that list is nice, helpful, and certainly sets up goals , but hey...how about letting your life unfold? kinda like a novel and the chapters unfold as you put one foot in front of the other and just do the next right thing. I find letting life happen can be very...very appealing, uplifting and full of surprises!
