I don't know what to do so I came here. My boyfriend, who was sober for two years when I met him (been in recovery for 10 years, but relapsed twice) got drunk on Tuesday night. He called me and told me, said he never wanted to do it again, came with me to an AA meeting, met with his sponsor and went to meetings every day. I know he was around alcohol last night, I told him he could call me if he felt like drinking and he said he would. Today I haven't heard from him. I called three times, it's NOT at all like him not to call me back, in fact he usually calls first. I am worried that something terrible has happened. I hope that if he did drink he is OK. My gut feeling is that he drank and isn't ready/willing to talk to me about it... or even still drunk.

He's been like a rock for me since I have been sober. I completely understand that I have no power over him, and that his relapse has nothing to do with me. But I am terrified. I know if this continues, I can't continue to be with him. And I am also terrified of losing someone who has been such a huge source of support. And seeing how sobriety can come crumbling down in a second if we lose our focus. Mostly right now, I just hope he is OK.
