I Iost my precious son in March 2021. He struggled for 14 years with addiction and I was very close to him. I tried to help him for the past 7 years when I knew about his addiction problems. I thought I did everything right, re boundaries, etc. He was an awesome son nonetheless. I miss him tremendously. I attend a Naranon group for us who have lost our ALOs. It's called Hope After Loss (HAL). I also attend a regular group nightly on Zoom. I'm still the same person with all those defects but anxiety and stress is now changed to grief. Not a fair exchange. I work hard at finding a way to carry on and remember my son prior to addiction. Hugs to all in their journey with their ALOs.
