I am now a new member of this DT. I can't find the spot where I can make "my own" entrie. I am sad. The man I live with (father of my children, not married, been together 18 years)who is 53 and an alcoholic started drinking again. He bought/took over an existing restaurant / BAR and had been sober about 2 months when he got it. He was all gung ho about staying sober and making it successful for his childrens future.

He called before coming home last night and was obviously drunk. That NOT a good way to be professional around employees!-- plus, he has ruined other businesses he has had in the past from his alcoholism in one way or another. He of course would say differantly.

I did find out he has been drinking for some time...days? maybe a few weeks. He said only 1 or 2 beers before coming home from work. I already know it may start that way but never ends up that way.

I am afriad and am sure he is going to end up ruining this business in one way shap or form because he will only get worse with his drinking. It's just part of his pattern.

I have enough issues myself and now have to deal with this. I warned him before he bought the place about the temptation to drink and of course he adamately told me he would NEVER allow that to happen.....

yup that is a difficult job to have and stay away from alcohol. I did know a owner/ bartender who didn't drink , so it was ok for him,,, but he must have been very mentally disciplined? xoxo stay in touch. xo

THe run around i was given by someone who claims they can handle their drink i know just a falacy and a fast track to me feeling chaos. Do u read the alanon books?

I haven't been to an alanon meeting or read a book since the early 1990's. I'd rather talk to people online. It's easier.
