Hello, I am new to this group. My brother is an alcoholic, and was in treatment an the beginning of the year. He relapsed, and now my whole family advises to shun him unless he gets sober. He is a grown man, and may never get better. I would rather have him in my life as is, then not at all. They claim it would be killing him to do so, because he won't get better. I just want to call him, I won't give him money or anything. What do you think?
I say call him. Love is worth it in both sickness and in health. It sounds like you already have some clues as to how love can feed the illness. Ya gotta show up for the lessons if ya wanna learn how to feed the health.
