This is a group for families and friends affected by someone elses drinking.

Although I no longer have an alcoholic in my life I still attend Al Anon meetings.
Why? Because Al Anon, the meetings, the friends and most importantly the literature keeps me
centered and working on improving myself...sometimes a daily challenge.

I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital. I don't think that we will have her much longer. She is very frail. Now she needs help eating. So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying. I think crying releases toxins into my body. Also, I was a drug counselor for a few years, and I don't know if that made people shy away from me.
I am approachable and did sponsor others in AA, but in AlAnon it seemed to be a different situation.
I am glad for the friendships I have from AlAnon, though, and feel those go deeper than the AA ones. Go figure.
