Is this in AlAnon One Day at a Time ? Can't really tell! It is overcast here, and I am glad because I can shut up the house when the (loud and illegal) fireworks start. I hope families everywhere can relax and enjoy themselves today and celebrate the anniversary of our sort of great country.

I went to a neighborhood parade this morning with my husband. Seeing all the children brought tears to my eyes as it reminded me of the fun activities we had with both our children. Happy memories for sure, but I still felt the pull of the past.

i never fail to remember the 4th of july activities more than any other holiday. While the kids were excited about Christmas, they were the most pumped about the 4th and fireworks. We often visited the grandparents in Wyo, where the fireworks were louder and cheaper, and they went way out into a gulley and shot them off. They were so excited. My ex-addict son was remembering that this week while we were talking also. i think he misses it too. It was always good times. For you, I hope you can remember the good times, as those memories are a gift that can't be taken away, regardless.
