do you take oral baclophen? Has it ever made you too stiff?

No, I never took oral bachlophen but I do take muscle relaxants and anti spasm drugs. I actually take the top dose I can, which is why I want the pump so bad. The oral medicines make me tired and I have to nap every 4 or 5 hours and with the pump I would have more relaxed muscles but not as much tired felling because the medicine would not be affecting my brain. I went to Boston and passed the test with the Neurologist so now I have to wait until I can get an appointment with the surgeon. The feeling from the bachlophen injection was amazing and my shaking and tightness were slowly relieved. I am excited about the prospect of living with less pain and stiffness. :)

I did not have luck with oral Baclophen, I am currently taking Robaxin for day use and Zanaflex for night use. Thanks for the info. Good luck

It's been a while since you posted this question. My neurologist has suggested the same for me since the dose of medication that I need pretty much puts me to sleep. The smaller dose doesn't seem to be working all that well any longer and the spasms are becoming much more of a problem now that I am in my forties. There is now pain that I didn't ever use to suffer from and I am allergic to everything that has ever been prescribed for pain. I tried the oral bachlophen, but it made me so tired that I had to come off of it since I work full-time and have a second job that is part-time from my home. I also have a family member who I need to be able to care for a bit. I may do some more checking into it and go ahead with it? I'll let you know.

I set up an appointment with my pain management doctor for the trial. As of right now its looking like it might be around 2 months before I go in for the trial. They are taking their time because I am the first patient out of that practice to get the pump.

They originally wanted to an epidural injection but after talking to some other people who had them I decided against it and urged for the pump instead. I am currently on 20mg of oral Baclofen 3 times a day and so far its working pretty good. I am also on Valium for break through spasms and Tylenol #4... I can't wait for the trial and eventually the pump. A lot of the side-effects that I am experiencing are stomach related. I get nausea and constipated from the medication. As I told my doctor, the benefits are not worth the side-effects at this point and am ready to get off all if not most of the oral medication I am on. My doctor also told me that they can put a pain killer in the pump along with the Baclofen which makes me very excited.

The trial that I am taking part in is 3 day trial and will be taking place at a local hospital. I also have set up physical therapy and different tests while I am at the hospital to better find out what dose will work best for me.
