hello 

this is my first time posting anything here and I’m pretty new to this forum. I’m actually pretty new to realizing my only living parent is borderline and I’m really struggling. I just graduated my masters program recently which is exciting but all the celebrations came with extreme anxiety about my mom making it about herself and lashing out at me about my boyfriend who she doesn’t like. I know it sounds like a typical mom looking out for her kid but I truly love my boyfriend and I understand some of it is cultural but the way she treats me is beyond normal or okay. She yells at me and starts arguments with me about my relaironship with him and she’s is so freakin manipulative and is even manipulative about being manipulative! I’m at my breaking point. I live with her now and have been for four years and it’s been really bad at points. I’m grateful it hasn’t gotten to the point of physical abuse but emotionally I am so exhausted and starting to lose hope. I am in my own therapy but going home is terrifying every day. I want to get out but don’t have a job yet where I make enough and I have my dog too who I have to have with me. My friends support me and are on my side but as much as i appreciate that that can only go so far. I cry all the time and have gotten to the point of not wanting her in my life anymore. My boyfriends family is so supportive and loving and i just wish my own family could be that way. I try so hard reading books and keeping my cool with her but when she keeps throwing bs at me about things she claims she didn’t say and telling me what i said even though i didn’t i just lose it. I just feel so lost. I feel like nothing I do will help. She says she’s doing this bc she cares but she doesn’t see that she’s actuallh tortmenting me. Sometimes I think that’s her goal.
