I really like vyvanse Its a stimulant. Def need to talk to your doctor about it but ask. I like it bc the come down is gradual and last and it works best eating protein based breakfast. if you have ADHD you need to clean up diet too, stay away from carbs, sugar, gluten. It helps a lot, I eat paleo lifestyle and I take vyanse everyday and I take vitmins, fish oils b complex, iron, few others. I have tried concerta, vyvanse wellburtin. I like Vyanse the best, it absorbs in the liver and your body makes the chemicals you need from vyvanse to your brain. (something like that). I was on the wrong meds for many years and it makes a huge difference. I was to afraid to talk about my ADHD but now I am very open with my doctor. Only side effect have had was sleeping, but I take melatone or 5HTP at night. In the morning I take vyvanse at 6 am and fall back asleep and it wakes me up at 7:00 then I eat about 25-30 grams of protein for breakfast! (super important for ADHD people.) I was on the wrong meds for many years and Vyvanse pretty changed my life, I am able to focus, less impulse and I feel better when I take them, less thoughts. I would read driven by distraction. Also if you smoke pot I would quit. For some people it helps but it caused me anxiety, depression, couldnt control my mood, messes with hormones. I took me a month to detox of pot and withdraws were TERRIBLE! its also been said Pot is bad for ADHD people and we have 25% higher chance of addiction. Most likely most ADHD people carry addiction gene so be careful with anything gambling, sex, money, food, sugar, drugs, alch. Hope this helps sorry to ramble.

ALSO if you can try CBT , this had helped me so much! you can manage your ADHD but you have to make commitment to yourself its a life style change. I never felt better until I decided to take charge of my life and address my issues. Getting the right medication changed my life and also seeing a good therapist that works well with you helps. If its not a good fit find someone else. CBT has changed me in many ways that I am way better person. If you cant afford one there Aamazon book you can get, if you close family member or friend they can work with you through the exercise.

My gf is on Streterra and it's been working. She also takes Prozac. At my suggestion, she takes fish oils which helps with cognition. Hope this helps.
