Does anyone else feel like no one ever listens to them, like they just aren't interested . I know I talk fast, and sometimes people can't keep up. But seriously it seems like no matter how fast or slow I talk or what I'm talking about no one ever really listens. They listen enough to reply but not really hear what I'm saying. Idk maybe it's just me but it really gets old being there for everyone else listening with patience and to really hear what they are saying only to have them just "ugh huh, yea well I". Like seriously

It is so annoying. I haven't said anything to anyone about it but I'm about to. I definitely don't lack in self confidence. I get so sick of people being so busy or whatever that they don't listen to me. But when they need someone to vent or talk to I patiently and quietly listen. It just gets old.

i hear you !! i talk constantly and i feel so lonely or something about it. people just stare at me.

I agree. i don't really talk fast but sometimes i feel like people don't hear me and i start feeling unresolved so i have to journalize to get the feeling out. THe worst part is when they interrupt you mid sentence.

I get that feeling a lot. One of the things that really gets me to question my self-worth is when people aren't listening to me. It is like they don't care to hear what I have to say, which in turn makes me internalize that they don't care about me or that I'm not worthy of taking the time to listen to or care about my point of view.
The worst is when I move out of state and had to get new primary care providers and they didn't want to hear that I had ADHD. I thought that I was looking to score some stimulants, even though I had been treated for the past 4 years. It was very frustrating that not only in my personal life, people weren't listening to me, but also when it came to my personal health, now the new care providers weren't taking to time to listen either. How do you guys reconcile this? Do you feel it is all in our heads or do people really ignore us more than they ignore other people?

PNWnewcomer I know what you mean about doctors not really listening either. Idk if they just don’t get it or just to busy to take the time to listen or what. I haven’t been able to reconcile it yet because I can’t tell if it’s all just in my head or people really ignore me more. I’ve actually contemplated ordering some time of small camera I can wear that they won’t notice to wear for like a week and then be able to play everything back and see if it seems the same. I know that sounds crazy but I feel like that’s the only way I’m gonna know if it’s in my head or really happening lol
