I depends on if one spouse has ADD or both. The issues and coping mechanisms are different for each situation. There is a very good book called "The ADD Effect on Marraige" that is very good at describing the effect of a one spouse with ADD situation. I have the both spouse situation.

I just discover after 30 years of marriage that I have ADHD.

As much as I read about it I see how it screwed my life and how it hurt all my loved one.

I am in the process of separating from my wife that I love very much.

I feel like curtain was lifted from my personality it is like the magician from Oz.

I am devastated and will do any thing to get my life back. I. Just need to understand how.

My greatest challenge is to not interrupt my wife. I don't even know I am doing it until I am in mid sentence and see the look on her face.

Side point: It seems to me that ADD people must attract each other initially. Both my wife and I are ADD and I have heard of very many couples where both are ADD. Eventually that brings its own problems.

My husband now of 7 years is a very patient excepting man I am so grateful to have him in my life. My X on the other hand .. Humm how do I put it? Some OCD tenancys and things clashed as you can imagine!
As a female and all the endless tasks a mother and wife have on a daily basis things can get pretty.... what's the word I'm looking for.... op there I go a lost for words again what the heck?

The best cure I found for interrupting my husband ( Iam hyper he processes slowly) is to do email or text. I get to hear what he is saying and there are no emotions or interruptions.

Occasionally my wife and I drive two cars for quite a distance. As we drive we talk back and forth on two way radios. She says that we should use the radios to talk at home too, since with the 'push to talk' microphone format I cannot interrupt, but have to wait till she is finished talking to reply since she will not hear me otherwise. :^)

I am a wife of a man with ADHD.
I have posted how it affects me, I wish he would talk about how it affects him but he won't, maybe he will someday.

Its the forgetfulness which gets to me, I try so hard not to get cross that I have to tell him something 4 or 5 times, I spend all day repeating myself!!! It makes me feel he doesn't listen to me in the first place or I don't matter to him.
I find it difficult. I wish he would acknowledge this and we can laugh about it but he is faultless in his own eyes and its tough to discuss.

ADD can play a toll on a person's marriage especially if one individual has ADD and the other doesn't . Usually in this aspect the individual who doesn't have ADD doesn't understand a lot of how the person with ADD feels or what that individual is going through. This is why it is very important for individuals with ADD to try and get spouse or significant other involved in going to doctor with you or researching information in order to learn and better understand ADD. However I understand that sometimes the person without the ADD may not really want to try to understand however maybe if the situation is approached in the appropriate way this can enhance the individuals curiosity to learn about ADD. Don't know but anything is worth a try. A lot depends on the person too. Hope things get better.

This is why I am terrified of marrying my gf. We both have ADD and we're both difficult. I understand the getting frustrated when you have to repeat yourself hundreds of times. It really does make you feel unheard and that you're not important.

ADHD greatly affects my marriage. My husband doesn't understand why I impulsively say or do things and gets mad at me. He also thinks I'm lazy because I'm unorganized. One of our kids also has ADHD. So that's another constant issue. I have to take care of my son pretty much on my own because my husband doesn't understand ADHD. And he thinks he can discipline our son the same as our other two kids and get the same results. So it's a constant battle trying to control my own ADHD and then trying to help my son while also taking care of my other two kids, Playing referee between my son and husband and my husband treating me like a kid. All while running a daycare out of my home and a dog breeding business and taking care of a big house. If my husband would do some reading about ADHD and be more understanding it would make my life a lot easier.
