... and revive this support group. I have been going through a rough patch with my afs - often bedridden the last 2 months - and it's getting lonely! Perhaps we can share our experiences and sources of hope with each other. I invite you to do that here. Anyone been able to recover? I would love to hear about your journey :). And if you haven't, that's ok too. We can be here for each other.

i will talk about myself. I crashed just before christmas holiday, i believe in large part as a result of the stress from the us elections. I was very invested and devastated. My father had to come and get me as i didn't feel i could travel by myself. After the holiday spent house-bound, i crashed harder and became bedridden. Since then, the past month, i'm getting better very slowly, but it's very rocky, up and down. I still spend most of my time in bed and i am still house-bound. I am trying now to make peace with the process, working on gratitude for the gifts of the illness and of my life. I am realizing that mental stress is my achilles heel and i have to reprogram my mind. So, that's my goal!... maybe in the end this illness will have taught me about happiness!

I have been ill for an extremely long time and cannot seem to recover. I am presently bedridden and crashed. I am trying to remain calm and hopeful that this crash will pass. I have been in this condition more times than I can count, yet everytime these debilitating symptoms frighten me. I have been under high stress lately and I know my adrenals just can't carry a heavy stress load. So I can relate to what you are saying. Although I have not recovered personally, I believe with the right treatments and a conducive environment for healing, one can actually heal. I have had a lot of unfortunate disadvantages that have restricted my healing process. I also need to reprogram my mind. I am so with you on that one. I am becoming more aware of the vital necessity to eliminate fear and to attract positive energy with positive thinking. I am more than happen to join you in healing our adrenal fatigue. Thank you, Diane. I'm sorry to hear that it's been so long and perhaps you don't have the right environment to heal. I hope that you are able to create that for yourself. Let's help each other eliminate fear! So, for today, here's my affirmation:
There are no tragedies, only challenges to learn from. There is nothing to fear, only a temporary need for soothing.

Thankyou for your kind words and affirmation. I see that the world is full of continual tragedies. I can't seem to believe otherwise. It is a reality. I see beauty and pleasure and many good things here in this world but equally I see suffering and distress.

I am so sorry for my long silence. Thank you for expressing yourself honestly - i didn't stay away because of your response. I only just read it and it's beautiful. I crashed shortly after i wrote my entry and then decided to severely limit my time online. I feel like the computer screen is scrambling my brain. So i apologize for disappearing like that. Hi there. I didn't see your comment here until today. We are obviously going at a slower pace here than most other sites. That's cool though...no pressure hey. We can have a no expectations adrenal fatigue pace lol! We can just connect whenever. I'm sorry you are struggling and I do understand what it feels like to be collapsed and burnt out. I've been sleeping better from taking double strength L tryptophan by a company in the USA called Now Foods. I'm still very unwell and could certainly do with longer sleeps, but at least there is some improvement. I have also been doing more guided meditations on YouTube with the Honest Guys. I believe they are vital for our healing and restoration of our depleted adrenals. We have to learn to let go and allow our body and mind to fully relax. You are right in saying that there is really nothing to fear. After all we are all eternal souls and never cease to be. We are not our body. We are far more powerful than we realize. Our mind can toss us around so much if we allow it . It can be our best friend or our worst enemy. Hang in there and stay positive. I will do my best also. Be kind to yourself and love yourself too.
