I just joined this group not too long ago. I wrote a little about my story in a previous post here. It has taken me 31 years to uncover most of my past. And I know that it will take a little longer to have all the pieces come together to form a completed puzzle.
Let me back up for a brief minute and relate a little more about my story. As I said earlier my b/mom had bee married and had 2 children from that marriage. She left them because of the treatment that she received from that marriage. To leave the children is still part of the puzzle that I'm trying to understand. Anyway, she ended up pregnant a year after leaving her first family and gave that child up for adoption right after his birth. Six years later she found herself in prison after trying to robb a store. She found out there that she was expecting me. She had me while still incarcerated and I was immediately put into a foster home. My b/mom had hopes of raising me after she got out of prison, but realized when I was 2 yrs old that it was going to be awhile before she got out. It was then that she relinquished her rights so that I could be placed for adoption. She finally got released and married again and had 3 more children.
I have been searching for answers for 31 years now. I have always wanted to know why I was so different from my a/family. Those dreams of the past years have finally come true!! Lat Nov. I found my b/mom and her 3 youngest children. Unfortunately for me my b/mom died back in 2000 and my youngest half sibiling, a brother, was killed in a motorcycle accident in 1992. I will never have the opprotunity to express to my b/mom the feelings I have inside for her. I will share here in another post one day, but not today.
Last week the ultimate iceing on the cake happened. My 2 half sisters flew out and stayed at my house for the best 4 days of my life!!!!!!!! To be able to meet them in person has brought more joy to my soul than anyone can imagine!! Finding them, having them share with me tales from their childhood, finding out about my b/mom-about some of the same things that we both love to do-this has been the best ever!!!!! There has always been things that I have had a love for that my a/mom never had an interest in, or my a/father. So to finally find out some of these things at the ripe old age of 49 has been just amazing!!!!!
