I've been in a relationship for 8 years with someone who is undiagnosed, but is text book OCD, APA, sex/porn addict, video game addict, and just plain selfish. I can tell you so many stories. He is addicted to buying so many different things. The weirdest is flashlights. We are probably up to at least 30-40 different kinds of flashlights. We have every shape, size, LED, halogen, lantern, strobe, you name it. It is ridiculous. It drives me crazy. He downloads hundreds of songs to the extent we have a stack of CD albums (which hold about 50 cd's each floor to ceiling. in my basement. He has also bought hundreds of CD's and DVD's over the course of our relationship and prior. It sickens me to see all of this wasted money. We have a little girl who is a miracle baby. She suffers from a rare syndrome and she is deaf. I could use that money to help her in so many ways. Over the last month he has bought 8 jerseys for himself. All the same NFL team. It is ridiculous. He wears the same clothes all the time. My family always says, 'you need to buy him some clothes'. I say, 'he has 10 of those'. He is driving me crazy to the point I think I need an addiciton of my own. UGH....congrats to those of you on here who are actually trying to get help for yourself. I wish he was to that point.
