The softer side of growing up in a dysfunctional home... a sanctuary to feel home with friends and never alone.
Last night it hit me, how far in this life I have come... I survived physical, emotional, and sexual abuse as a child... I survived my own demons with alcoholism (at least for today)... and it was all made possible by my HP. At times, I can get down on myself for things in this life that I still haven't accomplished and forget the miracles I still have... the fingers I'm using to type this... the eyes to make sure everything is "just right."
I hate when I am taken for granted, at times, these gifts given freely to me I take for granted... so this season of miracles I liked to share with you a poem I wrote... someday maybe I'll make it into a video but right now I just want to thank my HP for my miracles... which includes all of you... I hope everyone has an enjoyable Easter/Passover weekend....
MIRACLES
A miracle took place today
I woke up and heard what He had to say
I contemplated the thoughts for awhile
Finally, I arose with a warm smile
A miracle took place today
My feet touched the floor, it took my breath away
Carpet felt warm to the touch
My toes loved the feeling so much
A miracle took place today
My legs guided me on my way
They led me outside
Each step… a new wonderful ride
A miracle took place today
Sights I saw, left me speechless, didn’t know what to say
Under the afternoon sun, I watched the birds fly
And happy children play and run
A miracle took place today
The smells all around me carried me far away
The fragrance of the rose was divine
The scent of an iris… oh so fine
Yes these miracles took place
All because of His wonderful Grace
I thanked Him for the messages He sends
And the comfort of good friends
These miracles given by Him
Taught me responsibility and freed me from sin
Now I know what to do
When I say those lovely words “I Love You."

I get such joy from the simple things in life.
When I have a bath, I thank my HP for the lovely warm water and bubbles....in the knowledge that some people don't even have water to drink.
I don't say that as a guilt trip for myself but just out of sheer gratitude.
Thank you for that beautiful poem Dave......toes and warm carpet...lovely!!!

I am bitching about my job situation AGAIN, and I see people in wheel chairs, broker than me.....ya know??? an attitude of gratitude goes a long way......I like Karen's bubble bath, I do that too, Karen, LOL,,,it really settles me down as I sip some vino and just exist......
