I too am glad we came here. Sorry for some left behind but, not missing the chaos. This is our "soft spot to fall".
I don't come here all the time but when I do, I feel safe and comfy, Like being in a a big over-stuffed chair in our family room.
Well With out ya, It just wouldn't be the same, and I am Just Grateful We Brought those most dearest to us along, and YES... LOVE LOVE LOVE that we can come here, and accept one another, "When we Can" and know that even if days go by, we Still have a Warm Place to Land...
Thanks to You Dave & Karen... We can ALL Enjoy the Sanctuary of HOME....
Most Grateful For all that you Went thru to Get Us All Here... TOGETHER....
Love, & Hugs My Friend & Prayers Always

You have never come out and asked but I believe you can figure out that most of us came to this place from another message board... why we left isn't that important... it was just time to find a new and safer home...
It just felt so right when the doors of Sanctuary opened and friends started coming through and in the back of my mind was the thought that now we can add to our family and make more friends.
I am so glad you joined us and became part of this family... speaking for myself your wisdom has helped me a lot...
Thanks for being here and being a part of this family...
Dave
That's one of the reasons why this place is special. There are a thousand different ways an online community - especially one populated by wounded adult children - can run off the rails. The fact that this community has such a focus on mutual support, acceptance and healing speaks to everyone's commitment to working their program and the Steps.
FWIW I have noticed allusions to a MIP board. I occasionally visit the Al-Anon board over there, but for me it is practically unrelatable; it seems to be composed about 99.9% of women who are focused on their alcoholic men and not themselves. I don't know if you guys came from that board or another, and frankly I'm glad I missed out on the drama (but sorry y'all had to deal with it.)
By their very nature, internet message boards are prone to crosstalk, which is another way this group stands out. There is a sharing of ESH, and validation without commentary, which again shows everyone's commitment to the 12-Step principles.
I was looking for a place to hang out where people are committed to working their program, and extremely grateful I found such a place in the Sanctuary. It's my belief that HP works his greatest miracles by crossing people's life paths, and this community of healing bears that belief out.
It was a huge shock and I haven't really recovered from the shock and upset of it even now. I will - in time. It just saddened me and my trust was shattered.
I feel blessed to be here amongst such kind, wise wonderful people - and I feel safe here. For me, that is key - feeling safe.
((Hugs to everyone))) this recovery journey I find incredibly tough at times but so worth it.
I pray God blesses each and everyone of us and also those 'lost souls' out there who maybe feel they haven't found a 'home' yet.
