I do not get mine from nurses or anyone other than mail order.....I call them diapers....my choice of words.....

Diapers (US) or nappies (UK) are strongly associated with babies or young children. So nurses and caregivers usually call them differently. It’s a matter of respect towards their patients.
However, you’re free to call a spade a spade.

I don't like calling them diapers its humiliating. Although I have joked about it a little with caregivers or My husband. I mean I know what they are. And why I need to use them. But We talk about it very little at this point. Its just part of My routine. Usually reffered to as briefs. Incontinence pants. I don't know. I see people calling them diapers on these incontinence message boards. And thats just fine. All of us that deal with disability and incontinence understand what they are. But I'd be mortified to talk about it like that outside My caregivers or family. I'd rather just keep it as private as possible for the most part.

I call them diapers when I talk to people suffering from incontinence. With other people, I rarely talk about it but referring to protections or briefs. It’s more humiliating to wear them than to call them, whatever the word.
