Specifically what are the best pads for a wheelchair ? We use the tranquility bed pads. But perhaps there is something better ?

I am only urinary incontinent due to a spinal injury and have since had a number of operations - decompressions, discectomies, fusions. For the most part I am active but I have had a few periods in a wheelchair over years when the pain had got so bad. I use the TENA Slip Maxi Active Fit to manage my incontinence and on the occasions I was in a wheel chair I also used a washable bed pad as I often had leaks when seated for any length of time. It's the same as I use at night and is made by MIP, which I get on Amazon, and I have found this to be really good and aborbent. I have tried disposable beds pads but they just seem to ruck up. I hope this helps.

We use the disposable pads. Because if there is a leak. Or if I have to be changed in the chair. It protects the seat.

I am confined to a wheelchair all day. My spinal injury resulted in both my outlets being closed except for manual intervention. I use pads (Abri San Premium 5) as an insurance against occasional faecal leakage such as resulting from a stomach bug. I guess you need something more absorbent? The Internet might be worth a try. Sorry I can't suggest anything more.

That's the thing. I rarely have had my briefs leak urine or stool into the seat of My wheelchair. Unless like when I was in a long term care home. They used the cheap briefs. We have been using the Tranquility ATN over night adult diaper briefs. For quite awhile now. To get Me through the night and also when I'm in My chair and on the rare occasion We leave home. But My husband and family has been trying to get Me out more. If I wear the overnight briefs. Iand a booster pad. Or wear a size large with a size extra large over that. I'm ok to be out of the home for 3-5 hours. No matter how much my body urinates. But If I have a bowel accident it's important to be changed as soon as possible for skincare reasons especially. Not to mention the smells. You as a quad yourself know how important skincare is. The seat of my power chair is a special cusion and is kinda expensive.. I basically need the pads more for changing then anything. My chair can be recline just barely enough. That My husband or caregivers can change Me in a family restroom. But without the pad. The mess may get on My chair.
