I think that all of us go through that at some point or another. For the most part, I am happy with the freedom that diapers give me. They allow me to go out with minimal worries and offer a certain sense of control over something I have little control. But yeah, there are times when I feel this really sucks and just want to take it off. It gets easier over time, but let's face it: it is uncommon, and these are not things you can talk about freely to most people. That's why I think groups like this are important. It helps to know that other people are going through the same things we are.

Those are good points, and I’m “there”, most of the time. Although my needs aren’t heavy compared with many others, which I’m thankful for in itself, there is, as you say, a freedom that comes from wearing these. For the “price” [speaking of the inconvenience] of a thin and light undergarment, it’s nice to go to the washroom and not worry at all about the next 30 minutes when I will leak like a cheap faucet. And, to no longer worry about sitting down at a friend’s house and wondering if, just perhaps, this will be the time when I’ll have an infrequent but not rare mini “sploosh” out of nowhere. In fact, that happened not long ago, but thank goodness it was after I started wearing protection, because it would have been a horrible experience otherwise. So yes, the freedom is awesome, no question!

I also like the feeling of cleanliness because for at least 6 months, probably much longer, I was stubborn and put up with the dribbles and leaks …I realize now that it was rather yucky feeling and perhaps even somewhat bad smelling at times. Now, there are many times when I’ll change at noon, and notice how it feels good to put on brand new, completely clean and dry “underwear”. As you say, you can’t really discuss that with someone who doesn’t know the cold and rather gross feeling of the “alternative”…

Lastly, on a “looking at it positively” angle, I have to give a nod to the products available. I won’t get brand specific, but it’s great to have something that’s very thin, at least on the “diaper continuum”, and still know it’s actually redundant in my case.

It took me a long time as well, honestly I didn't like wearing any diapers until I found Hexa and Co. Not sure you have heard of them but they are an awesome company, and they are so much more discreet and comfortable than other brands. Give them a try!

Times where a diaper starts to get you down, just remember what its letting you do without having to worry about accidents. Having to wear diapers isn't fun but it does let us do things that are fun without having to spend the bulk of our lives in bathrooms or having constant accidents.
