Quiet Time

How many of you have a quiet time with God? How do you discipline yourself to do it? I read my Bible and journal to God, but just spending time meditating and praying is very hard for me. I really want to draw nearer to God and I know that this quiet time is the key to hearing from Him.

I would appreciate suggestions and experiences you've had in this.

I have a quiet time daily. It took me along time to become regular, especially because of my focusing issues. I just forget. I tried a wide variety of things as reminders before I finally got into the habit.

Even then the focusing while having my quiet time was still and issue. I finally realize that what I thought were just my thoughts wandering and a failure on my part to keep my attention on what I was doing, those thoughts were really how God was speaking to me. He was using my thoughts to guide me to how I could respond in a more godly manner to my problems, etc. Don't assume that hearing from God means you hear a male voice. It could be your own voice or just thoughts.
