One thing I want to say that may be of help to you is this...
We are God's children. Just like a baby must learn to hold it's head up, roll over, sit, crawl, stand, walk, and run. All in that order, we must do the same spiritually. We can't skip the steps, each step leads to the next step. When changing and growing in God, we need to take our baby steps and not expect too much too fast. If we go through the changes the right way, hopefully we won't have to repeat the lessons and can move onto the next step/lesson.
Don't get too frustrated with yourself, let God change you in his timing, not yours.
I am happy you did not get discouraged and leave thinking we were ignoring you when no one replied to your post. It would have been easy to do. This says a lot about your character.
God Bless you hon.
I would not be mad, I actually feel bad asking for help like this.
I want to bear fruit for God but I keep sinning. I still will try and
also I pray that God blesses you and helps you also.
Thank you everyone,
I would rather be the afflicted one than dumping this on poor children or someone else.
I love God so much even though sometimes it causes me so much pain and breaks my heart and soul,
even though sometimes I am so scared and I face death, I am just so far from where I should be.
We all are unworthy but God loves us so much that he forgives, forgets, and teaches us how to become more mature in him.
Note the word mature, maturity doesn't happen over night, it is a growing process.
We are his kids, under construction and he is doing the constructing.
I see two areas of concern here.
1. I think the enemy is sitting on your shoulder and whispering nasty, unworthy, self destructive, and self condeming words and thoughts in your ear and YOU ARE LISTENING. QUIT LISTENING to his pack of negativity.
2. You are looking at the wrong view. If you don't like what you see, change your view.
A horse running a race is often wearing blinders over it's eyes. The reason for this is that the horse needs to concentrate and only see the goal ahead. If it was not wearing the blinders, it would be distracted by all the activities going on around it instead of focusing on the goal ahead of it.
When driving a car down the road, we must concentrate in the road ahead of us. What would happen if we started looking around at all the things around us? This is the same with you. You are distracted by everything going on around and inside you and loosing your focus on the goal ahead of you.
So you mess up and sin. Your not perfect, the goal is to become perfect in God's eyes.Look at King David, he lusted after his neighbor's wife. committed adultry with her while her husband was away defending the kingdom, got her pregnant, tried to cover up his sins by trying to blame the pregnancy on the husband, when that didn't work he had the husband killed and married the wife of the husband. God administered consequences for his sins, he lost the baby. But let's look a little further... After they lost their son, the had another son... King Salomon The greatest human king to live on earth. PLUS God said King David was a man after God's own heart.
After all of that... Why would God say that??? Because I think King David was perfect in God's eyes. I think our interpetation of perfect and God's interpetation are different. We see perfect as not ever sinning. I think God see;s it as loving your God with your whole, mind, body, soul and every fiber of your being. King David did that.
Also lets look at his growth to maturity. King David learned through his mistakes/sins to mature as a follower of God. It didn't happen over night or instantly. It was a work in progress. He was God's kid under construction and God was the contractor/creator and finisher of our faith.
Why do you expect more of yourself than God expects of you. Bearing in mind that asking of you is different than expecting of you. Desiring of you is different than expecting of you. What God does expect is than when you fall down, fall short of the goal, you pick yourself up, dust yourself off, (repent) and TRY again. Never give up.
As long as you are trying, God is pleased with you. He does not think negative thoughts towards you or tell you negative things. So why do you do that to yourself?
There is only one unforgivable sin and you have not committed it or you would not be here asking for help.
Cut yourself some slack and change your focus/view.
I am praying for you. We all can keep you in prayer, but how you handle things is up to you to change, only you and God can do it together.
