Hi all I'm new to this group. Yesterday I went to my 1st AA meeting following a heavy weekend. I have been sober for 4 days. I really liked the meeting & feel that AA will be a great support for me.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

The main thing for me was to 'keep coming back' even when my disease wanted me to not to go! If I kept my bottom on a seat then I could start to hear a new solution (and hope) that would come into my life.
Today I am an alcoholic who has had the obsession to drink removed! I find that amazing and am truly grateful every day. And all because, like you, I entered AA and then became willing to do what was suggested :)
4 days is awesome.
Look forward to hearing hear about your journey :)
For me I found a life that exceeded all my dreams once I put the grog down and picked up the solution.
Wishing you well on your journey and like the other too looking forward to hearing about your journey.
Just had a quick look on your profile and notice you are just across the ditch to me so welcome kiwi.

When all was said and done, I put my life back into the control of my Higher Power and all kinds of miracles began happening again!
Don't ever stop going to meetings Fish! I don't know what it is there that works, if it's the collective group consciousness or what but it had amazing benefits for me. Today, I live my life by the 12 steps and I have never been happier.
God Bless!
