I try to see the image of God in everyone (no, you KNOW I don't always manage it) This helps me to remember that who or whatever a person may be, they are human beings and I should try to give everyone respect and dignity.

I try to remember that I am an instrument of God, that means I have responsibility about how I live my life today. I do not lie, cheat or steal.

I always take 12 step calls when asked ( thy know I'll never turn one down, so we get a lot!), I sponsor several people. I am a home responder on Monday evenings. I go into secondary schools to talk about alcoholism and AA. Subsequently, I have been invited back to talk to the students on other topics.

We have written to ask the governor of Holloway prison to ask if we can go into the YP unit to work with the young women there.

We spend a lot of time thinking about how we can best carry the message, put together workshops and studies.

I try to be the best I can at the job that I do. I am a preacher and I trust the Holy Spirit to inspire me with what I am meant to say. I run retreats for women in recovery.

I have mentored young people and trained in Hospital Chaplaincy team to offer spiritual support to those who are sick, and their families.

I try to support my sponsees and friends in AA when they are having a hard time. I attend pastoral workshops.

I go to football (sometimes tests my faith :) I am supportive of my family especially my granddaughter. I am a good mum and a good mum-in-law too.

In a way, everything I do keeps my faith alive and so does everything that I am. If I set out to do God's will daily then everything keeps my faith alive.

I know what the bible says. I know what the big book says.

For me faith is looking into the eyes of the grim reaper and saying God your will be done.

I'm not disagreeing with the premise of works just sharing a picture of it from another angle.

I do 12 step calls ,jail meetings, I help out anyone that I can. I stay serenen and even through out the day. smile promote harmony

I volunteer in my community and do whatever 12 step work I can in AA. I feel I should do more service work in AA. I don't do it for the accolades. I always feel so much better about myself when I'm being selfless.

I have tremendous faith in the fellowship and in my program. I trust in my higher power. I trust in the basic goodness of people.

Nicky, what do you mean when you say that your faith is more about your actions then what you believe in? I'm not sure I understand, but would like to.

I live by spiritual principles to the best of my ability, such as Honesty, Courage, Integrity, Faith, Loyalty, etc

I sponsor several women and talk to numerous women after meetings, I try to help people outside the program, as well, am a very good mother, a good wife which means I think of my husband before myself in most instances. I treat all with dignity and respect. Oh, I am also a loyal friend.

I try to contribute to the mainstream of life today instead of taking away from it.

And oh yeah, I have faith that my God is loving & forgiving and is always there , especially when I don't think he is. I also have faith in the power of the 12 Steps to change the lives of alcoholics.

I should have said in my post about a little card that I had once which said 'Faith without works is dead and willingness without action is fantasy.' I LOVE that!

James 2:14-26 for those who want to know where the quote 'Faith without works is dead' comes from in the Bible.

If the Bible ain't your thing, I would imagine that this sentiment is expressed in the sacred writings of most other religions and philosophies of life.

I help where im wanted and where i can. I follow m higher power whom i call God i have a great relationship with him. learning his word.All i can do is what i can do.

Hey Bato, going back to the big book to answer your question what i meant was that the spiritual life is not a theory I have to live it. That my belief/faith is worth nothing if I do not demonstrate it in my actions, practice these principles in all my affairs. For example, I believe in the power of the 12 step program but that belief would really count for nothing if I was not willing to testify to it by carrying the message to others.

"show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works."

I don't work because I have faith. I work because I have grace.
