So how does one get sober with so many stressful events coming at you that are way triggering? I reached out to a lady in aa i was told knew what i was going through. Called twice nothing, left a message a text. Im afraid if I quit cold turkey of anxiety also afraid of meds. Spirally. Lost my companion today because i was honest and going through stuff with my kids. Everything is heavy. Im tired and dont know how to deal.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

I remember in the beginning.... I was on the phone with my sponsor, daily with him and I never could have made it through those first few months without his constant support.
AA saved my life. It's not the only way, but it's the one that worked for me.. I went through outpatient treatment first called an IOP (Intensive Outpatient Porgram) where attendance at AA meetings was mandatory so I continued going to them on a weekly basis, after I finished the 3 week program.
The best thing you could do right now is make an appointment with your doctor who will evaluate you and discuss treament programs, medications, or both but in the end, it's totally your decision..
