I am so Blessed to have had a Grandma to teach me this at a very young age. It has enabled me to live my life this way most everyday since that very young age. I do my best to give this way of life, and I do believe it is a choice to live this way, appreciating what the Universe and God has offered me each day, to my children and now to my children's children. I haven't had one of them argue me about this yet. Some truths just are the real truth and stand the test of time.... they remain the truth and have no way of being argued. Even when my offered day brings me pain..... Pain is part of being alive and feeling. If and when I have ever attempted to "shut out" the pain filled experiences of living life, I have not only succeeded in pushing the pain filled ones to the back burner, ( in my experience I have always had to go back and feel them anyways for they refuse to be ignored, some law of nature and the universe, I believe.) I miss out in the joy filled ones too: for they all come from the same source... inside me... and if I ignore one the other must be shut down too. I have lived this before and it is not really living... it is not even really existing... it is the numb I chased with alcohol and any other way I attempted to to achieve not feeling. I used to tell my kids when they were trying not to cry or be mad etc. If you continue to do this your feelings will come out some how, they will begin to scream, squiggle around, yell, and pound on the inside of your heart saying, "Let us out, Let us out!!!." They would always laugh and then feel their feelings and talk about it.
Great Post as always Billy. Love and all the other feelings in life to you all ;-)
