Learning to spot these things for me is is all about identification. Never could do that before recovery.

Does a tree really make noise in the woods when it falls!! Or lol does it require my ears , to be a active participant in the action Haha!!! Self whether centered or Self seeking is the hand in Play!!

For me this is about Ego. Wanting to use my intellect to prove myself and inflate my position in a given scenario, thus, High Ego and Low self esteem. I was a baddy at doing this is my drinking, can still do it longtime sober, but am more aware of it. But even being aware of it doesn't always stop me - that's self indulgence. But this shit goes on in my head when I am alone too, ie, if he/she says this, I'll say this and trump them bla bla bla, especially with people who have, or I feel who have, committed injustices to me in the past. (and these are people I've done endless inventories on). That's a sick head and I DEFINITELY have to intervene on that one. I have to use both AA and therapy strategies to stop that at the Pass.

I don't have much ego, but it does irritate me when people fail to recognize my brilliance

Good post, G. Time and time again I find myself saying "Do I wanna be right or do I wanna be happy?" Some just need to get their point across no matter what. Motives there? Not for me to say. That's their bag. I move on.

wow, I really needed to hear (or read, lol) this today! I just posted something on the main board abotu people annoying me....Maybe it is all ego! Thinking that I know better than them....how arrogant I can be!! I do not want to be this way. It does not feel good at all! But now that I can name it...lots of ego and arrogance!!...maybe I can work on getting rid of them and praying for God to help me!
