This is a great segment in the Larry Kutlow show with Patrick Kennedy and his cousin on what the new insurance plan and treatment. I've had meetings with Patrick on the stigma of addiction. One thing I disagreed with what Kutlow said "if you don't have a god your not going to make it" Not good for he masses.

I think where he mentioned "it's doable with Gods help" was a wrong blanket message. Should have talked form 'his' experience and not on behalf of everyone 'doing' it.

I liked what Chris said at around 5:12 where treatment and 12 steps were different. 12 steps are free and available but treatment (and I was fortunate to have Govt assisted treatment) is not and from the start where detox or a trip to the docs to discuss treatments and have medical check-ups is so needed to be funded. How many times do we read here that people don't go get medical help because they don't have insurance.

I also liked where they said that people seeking treatment have a lot to offer society. So true.
