aa friends Community Group
Welcome. If you come to visit for the first time and have some questions feel free to ask. PM someone if you like but don't stay a stranger. We were all in the pit. We know a way out. No condemnation and no hammers. Just ask and prepare to make a load of friends.
This time around I will make sure to remember this is a lifelong gig, no matter how you feel or what is transpiring in your life.... must move forward.
I continue to learn as situations occur, as a result of life happenings, that I've never run across sober.
As gr8ful said, if living the principles becomes our way of life, we have something new to learn all the time.
The irony is that if we stand still, we will go backwards!!
I feel spoilt I guess. I continue to find AA and sobriety so damn exciting and I find that I just have an ongoing motivation to do the next directed thing because not only does this gig keep me alive and sober, but it's such a hoot!! In my new town I've just met a 4 months sober woman and a woman who bounces in and out and I've spoken to them at meetings and on the phone. I get serious with them and give them the full pitch, but sooner or later we're in hysterics laughing and it's such a tonic (no pun intended) both for them and for me. In the BB I think it's referred to as our "seeming levity". Like I've said to them, I am very serious about my disease of alcoholism and my program of recovery, but I try not to be too serious about myself. I LOVE AA.
