Well as long as I don't know that I am forgiving someone - I"m all for it.

I was told that if I prayed for my ex-husband and his new wife, for two weeks, that they would have
everything in their life that I wanted in mine - I would not longer resent them nor would I feel that
horrible feeling of burning resentment.

I didn't realize I was essentially forgiving them with my prayers - and the amazing thing is that it
worked........I felt much better.

Thanks for this... and Linda, thank you for sharing what you did. I can't tell you how many times I have been told to pray for those I am angry with.

I came across some old letters a couple of days ago while looking for something else. It stirred up some very old feelings (not good ones, trust me). I haven't read them, but haven't shred them either. It was following the end of this "relationship" that my drinking worsened and progressed at incredible speed, which eventually brought me back to the rooms of AA (and I am eternally grateful for that).

I'm meeting my sponsor tomorrow to talk. I think it's time I begin that Fourth Step! In the meantime, I'll give praying for him a shot.

Drafter, along the same lines as the song... I had a friend who was told to light a candle for someone he was angry with. He said he'd light a candle for them, and then he'd blow it out. LOL!
